Sompi
now even the suomi.fi authentification has stopped working on SeaMonkey so I have to give Mozilla the right to my personal information to pay my taxes?
-
Sompi
...for what purpose they even made the change that caused it to not working
-
tomman
some intern got paid for the project, and said intern did what he knows best: "google framework of the week"
-
Sompi
this is a serious security risk
-
tomman
elaborate
-
tomman
now those are serious words that need a well written report to escalate the concern to those that care
-
Sompi
I have to enter information including my bank credentials and also information about my customers
-
Sompi
And I am only allowed to use two web browsers which both have either TOS or other stuff that gives the maker of the browser the right to see that information
-
Sompi
If the information is being fed to some chaotic LLM neural network, who knows when it randomly spits it out

Rememer: politicians (including those that run your tax authority) are tech illiterate
-
tomman
and that has no fix, sadly

tomman
hence why we end with abominations like Horizon, anything by Oracle or IBM, or Venezuela's PATRIA system
-
Sompi
apparently the vero.fi service doesn't even work properly on Firefox anymore
-
Sompi
It relies on stuff like that the browser allows pop-up windows by default
-
Sompi
That's why it worked better on SeaMonkey... until it didn't because they broke it too
-
Sompi
tomman: Illiterate politicians are not the only problem, but also the bootlickers who infiltrate into every online forum and make it impossible to even have a civilized discussion about these things
-
nsITobin
tomman: most current IT professionals are tech illiterate they ONLY know the in-thing and anything else is either wrong or old

the computer geek is a dead breed

the web certainly took a dive that year. And w3c betrayal regarding drm.
-
nsITobin
mozilla's betrayal.. MOONCHILD'S on DRFUCKINGM.. If you remember the first real public challenge to Moonchild's unquestioned authority on all things Mozilla the WebExtensions thing and getting rid of it? Yeah that happened because Moonchild backpeddled on DRM.. it has NO PLACE in the browser at all and at BEST tolleratted as an npapi plugin.
-
nsITobin
WebExtensions are fundamentally a technology that cannot be implimented independantly because it is by design an ever changing service and standard that at least at the time was CONSTANTLY changing
-
nsITobin
same with DRM
-
nsITobin
and I was right on both counts
-
nsITobin
i just wish being right actually counted..
