my tst mail account still works. If webmail it is probably a different case. Never tried.

2.42 is too old for proper oauth2 support. Basically you are on your own with this version. The workaroiunds should not be needed with latest 2.53 but with google you never know. As with ms best to use a provider who not uses oath2. This s*cks and is basically a vendor lockin. Yes I know. All about security....

blockhead: I don't think I actually needed that page's instruction. IIRC, I simply looked in settings until I found 0Auth2 and selected it for both pop and smtp.

I only use gmail for a minimally used secondary account.
